Many of the world’s most successful and influential people have more in common than their accomplishments. Most of them also share one very important component of a healthy and fulfilled life – a morning routine.

It is absolutely mind-blowing how, in my experience, simply adding a morning ritual to your daily routine, and sticking to it, can become one of the biggest game changers of your life.

My Morning Routine

I was introduced to the concept of a morning ritual through the book The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod in which he talks about designing your morning on your terms which sets the tone for the rest of the day and influences everything that you do throughout your waking hours.

In my case, I have found that to be the absolute truth.

So, I wake up an hour before I need to and start by doing various activities that contribute to my productivity. First, I make my green shake…then I read a portion of a business or personal development book…then I reflect on what I am grateful for using the 5 Minute Journal App…then I exercise by doing some calisthenics…last, but not least, I meditate using the Calm App.

How I Benefit From My Morning Ritual

All of this usually takes about an hour and covers strengthening my mind through meditation and the gratitude practice…building a stronger body through exercising and drinking the green shake…and educating myself through reading.

I have found that when my alarm goes off and I get right out of bed and straight into my morning routine I have so much more energy and I am more productive throughout the day as opposed to when I hit the snooze button and try to catch a few more ZZZs.

I started doing this morning routine back in early 2017 and I saw so many positive changes as it relates to business, more sales, and an overall higher productivity in other aspects of my life. For some reason, however, I stopped following this ritual that I had created for myself and soon found myself in a slump.

In the latter part of the year, I decided to go back to my morning ritual and 2018, so far, has been phenomenal. Now I am not attributing all my success to this morning routine of course, but I do believe it’s a contributing factor because it sets the mood and tone for the rest of the day.

My exact morning routine may not be for everyone, but you can create a ritual that fits into your day and your lifestyle. There are even people that do 6 minute morning routines! You now have zero excuses.

Create it and stick to it for 30 or 60 days and see the immense positive changes it can bring to your life. Sounds like I’m over-promising, but just try it.
